Q: Why is cloud sync a subscription when everything else is not?

Because it costs us every month that you use it. Storage and bandwidth are a running bill, so they are priced as one. Conversion runs on your phone and costs us nothing after the download, so it is free.

Q: Do my files get uploaded?

No. Conversions happen on the device — you can put the phone in airplane mode and everything still works. Filota Cloud is the single exception, and it only syncs the outputs you create after switching it on.

Q: Will free tools move behind the paywall later?

No. Anything free today stays free, including tools we haven't built yet. If we ever break that, the app has lied to you and you should say so loudly.

Q: Why can't it convert my file?

If a format is missing, it is because we haven't written it yet, not because it's reserved for paying users. Unsupported files say so on the spot instead of failing quietly.

Your files never leave the phone

Every conversion runs on the device. There is no upload step, no server queue, no “processing” that happens somewhere else. Turn on Filota Cloud and your outputs sync — that is the only time anything moves, and you switch it on yourself.

No account There is nothing to sign up for. The app has never had a login screen.

What is the catch with the free tier?

There isn’t one. The free tier is the whole toolset with a 20-file limit per job. We make money when the people who use Filota weekly buy the lifetime unlock, which is a small fraction of everyone who installs it.
